My bio class today was nothing short of 100% nostalgia. First, I was one of four kids wearing the Green Sweater to school. Second, my bio teacher just got back from a visit to campus this weekend, where he stalked deer with Kurt and watched the snow. He visited while we were there--Mr. Bingham, tall, on the skinny side, short black hair, outdoorsy vibe. Anyway. We measured various aspects of a) white pine trees with b) DBH tape and c) tree corers which we remembered d) Pat had a lot of in his classroom. After class, talking with a friend, she wanted e) curling to be a sport at our school. The entire time I was doing nothing but ^_^ and :3
Stay alive during collegetime. It ends well.
Day 23
Today was a Sunday. I woke up a little late, 9:03, and did my laundry while reading Spanish and studying what little math I could... I just wrote down all the formulae. I'm about 95% sure that's all we'll really need to know on the test... the rest will just be identifying what we need to plug in. I forgot to hit the Start button on one dryer, so I had to pay another dollar to get my colors done.
By then it was time for brunch, so I left my dryer drying and headed to the dining hall to mack on some sick eggs, 'shrooms, onions and peppers, hot dogs and onions, crazy good pancakes, and some subpar (for the Mountain School... just saying, they have been better. Still quite delicious.) home fries. There were no oranges, so I went without citrus again. Dish crew was an ordeal... I mostly scraped plates. Nick, Hallie and Rafi said thank you, and Sam's grandparents stopped by to say hi. They are pretty nice.
Once we finished setting the tables, sponging and everything I searched for some people to go on a hike. It ended up being Jake, Sam, Jimmy, Charlotte and I who left to find our science sites. I don't know why Charlotte came-- she knew where her site was. [Edited for awkward] Well, Sam and I found sites and Jake said he found one. We all put pins in the map and wrote descriptions, however shoddy for the time being. Oh yes, and there was some drama involving me getting frustrated at Charlotte for being misleading where the confluence in Back Brook was and whatnot... I also took some killer photos (I hope they're killer... they're of cool ice formations.).
Once we got back, I think I did some work... maybe got my laundry... it was about 4. I know I did some History reading, and then Sarah came over at around 4:30, 4:45, and she, Sam, Jimmy and I had some bonding time, having equal bits of fun with each other. Dinner was BBQ RIBS, mashed potatoes, and carrots (of which I took too many). BBQ RIBS were very good. There was a mad scramble for some chocolate-glazed brownies that were good. Chocolate, you know.
After dinner I went back and over the next few hours I started my English essay (approved by Jack at brunch) and finished my Rise and Fall reading. I took frequent breaks. The topic that dominated check-in (other than cleaning up my room) was Mafia in various places. Apparently Rafi's barber did jail time. I finished my essay, deciding that we are not like the Moon-Azures, and rocked out to Iron Maiden and Jane's Addiction before bed.
a mad chase for the brownies? I wonder who could have started that? .... maybe begins with a M and ends with a addy Scheer.....perhaps?
